Choosing the Right Size Lampshade for Your Table Lamp

Selecting the correct lampshade size for your table lamp is key to achieving a balanced and cohesive look. Here are some simple guidelines to help you find the perfect fit:

Height of the Lampshade
Aim for the height of your oval lampshade to be about three-quarters of the height of your lamp base. For instance, if your lamp base is 30cm tall, your ideal shade height would be around 20cm. This proportion maintains visual harmony between the base and the shade.

Width of the Lampshade
The width of the lampshade’s base should be roughly equal to the total height of the lamp, from the base to the fitting. This ensures the lampshade covers the fittings adequately and provides a well-proportioned look.

Overhang for Balance
To keep your lamp looking balanced, the shade should ideally be at least 2cm wider on each side than the base of the lamp. This slight overhang helps achieve a polished and refined appearance.
